“Things that must be said - said perfectly!”

“I started visiting Savannah before I was born!
My parents brought me to our “cousin” Jack’s house
on Barnard Street. To me, an impressionable, creative,
visually-challenged young child, it was a magical miracle of mystery,
madness, and occasionally a little mayhem! But best of all,
it was freedom, as my sister and cousins were allowed to roam
Forsyth Park and environs.

“My adventures extended to the River … Fort Pulaski … Tybee Island … and beyond. Savannah wasn’t just a great place to grow up—it was the only place worth growing up, in my mind!

“As life took me elsewhere, and into a career of writing and creativity, I
strained to get back to Savannah. Today, I live behind the Blue Door and spend my time in an indoor writing gazebo overlooking East Oglethorpe’s avenue of oaks. Inspiration oozes all around me!

“Since this is a new venture and website, I hope you will revisit often and meet my new friends—books about Savannah and environs. So much Savannah…so little time! But I’ll give it my best shot! In addition to my Pretty Darn Scary Mysteries for kids, I’m working on new titles for adults and children, set in Savannah and the area, as well as just across the border so I can include the amazing ACE Basin in my repertoire!

“You can find many of my books at local and area booksellers. You are invited to order from this website. And if you are an educator and interested in my Georgia Experience curriculum or other books not on this site, please check out the website for Gallopade International.

“Well, see you at the annual Live Oak Libraries Children’s Book Festival…or at Paula Deen’s or Mrs. Wilkes’…or Parker’s downtown…or River Street…or out at Tybee…I’m here to stay now. And my gazebo (what my grandkids call my ‘writing cage’!) beckons…so back to work. Work? Writing is not work in Savannah!”
